This project solves the high costs, vendor lock-in, and privacy issues of proprietary tools like DocuSign or PandaDoc by offering a self-hostable, extensible alternative with full API access. It's built for individuals (free forever), small teams, developers integrating signing into apps, and enterprises needing compliance and control.

Bootstrapped by co-founders Kriti, Pete, and Alex, DocuSeal was created to make professional e-signing simple, fast, accessible, and privacy-focused, empowering businesses from startups to large orgs without external investor pressures.
