Favicon.io is a completely free online favicon generator that enables users to create professional favicons from text, images, or emojis in just a few clicks, ideal for web developers and designers.

---

🚀 Overview

Favicon.io is a simple, powerful tool for generating favicons—the small icons shown in browser tabs, bookmarks, and mobile home screens. It stands out by allowing creation from text inputs (unique feature), uploaded images, or a vast library of emojis, producing all necessary formats like ICO and PNG.

The project solves the common pain point of favicon creation: ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices without design expertise or paid software. It's built for web developers, indie hackers, startups, and anyone building websites who needs quick, high-quality icons.

John Sorrentino created it because "creating a favicon should be a simple process. No other favicon generator or favicon creator can make a well designed favicon from text."
