tinyfeed is a simple CLI tool that generates a lightweight, customizable static HTML page aggregating RSS, Atom, and JSON feeds—no database or config file needed—for self-hosters, developers, and tinkerers.
Explain the project in 2-4 short paragraphs.
tinyfeed is a minimalist Go CLI tool designed to create a single static HTML page from a list of RSS, Atom, or JSON feed URLs. It's dead simple: provide feeds via CLI or file, and it outputs fully-formed, accessible HTML ready to deploy anywhere.
What problem does this project solve? It addresses the bloat of modern feed readers—no logins, tracking, or in-app reading; just a clean, time-ordered list of links like Lobste.rs or Hacker News for quick scanning and original-site visits.
Who is it built for? Self-hosters, developers, and indie tinkerers wanting personal or shared feed dashboards without servers or databases.
Why did you build it? Out of frustration with complex alternatives; inspired by tinystatus and simple aggregators, built for easy cron/systemd integration since 2023.
Keep it human and honest.
