MeetCafecito, created by product manager Irma Mesa during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic (2019-2021), is a platform designed to make remote work feel more human. It connects solo remote workers, freelancers, and creatives who often miss the spontaneous conversations and networking opportunities of traditional office environments.

The project solves the widespread problem of social isolation and loneliness in remote work setups, where structured meetings dominate but casual interactions are absent. By facilitating quick, curated video coffee breaks, lunch chats, or happy hours—either virtually or locally—it fosters genuine connections, mentoring, destressing, and networking.

It was built for remote workers craving human interaction without the formality of professional networking sites. Irma developed it as a zero-to-one side project while working full-time, hacking on it at night to address her own remote work challenges and those of her community.
