PhotoPrism is an AI-powered, self-hosted photos app for the decentralized web that allows users to browse, organize, search, and share their photo and video collections privately without relying on cloud services.

---

🚀 Overview

PhotoPrism solves the problem of organizing and accessing large personal photo and video libraries privately, handling challenges like RAW conversion, duplicates, various video formats, and metadata extraction without compromising privacy or requiring big tech clouds like Google Photos.

It is built for privacy-conscious individuals, families, photographers, and self-hosters who want full control over their media on their own hardware, servers, or cloud instances.

The project was created to provide a user- and privacy-friendly alternative that runs anywhere—home servers, Raspberry Pi, Docker—while being 100% self-funded and independent, ensuring no data selling, transparency, and focus on the decentralized web.
