Glitch was a browser-based platform for instantly coding, collaborating on, and hosting web apps with no setup required.
Glitch was an innovative online coding platform that transformed how people build web applications by eliminating traditional setup hurdles like installing software or managing servers. It provided a full-stack development environment entirely in the browser, enabling real-time collaboration similar to Google Docs but for code.
What problem did this project solve? It removed barriers to entry for web development, making it accessible to beginners intimidated by complex tools, while speeding up prototyping for experienced developers.
Keep it human and honest: Glitch brought joy to coding, but was shut down in 2025 due to sustainability challenges.

The Internet is broken – and we are using it to access and distribute all of human knowledge. Data monopolies hold and enclose upon personal & public datasets, threatening universal access. To tackle this problem, between 2013 and 2015 we performed a series of design & development sprints in collaboration with researchers, librarians, and civic technologists working to preserve the digital knowledge commons. Out of this research we built Dat, a distributed ledger & peer-to-peer data sharing toolkit.
