GlobaLeaks - Free and Open-Source Whistleblowing Software | WarmIndex

GlobaLeaks is a free and open-source whistleblowing software enabling anyone to easily set up and maintain a secure and anonymous reporting platform, targeted at organizations, journalists, activists, NGOs, public agencies, and corporations worldwide.

🚀 Overview

GlobaLeaks is a flexible, open-source framework for creating secure whistleblowing platforms that prioritize whistleblower anonymity, privacy, and data protection. It solves the critical problem of providing safe, compliant channels for receiving sensitive reports, where traditional methods risk exposing informants to retaliation. By default, it offers end-to-end encryption, Tor support, and compliance with international standards like ISO 37002, EU Directive 2019/1937, and GDPR.

The software is built for a wide audience including independent media, activists, public agencies, corporations, and NGOs—over 10,000 projects worldwide use it. It was created by the Hermes Center for Transparency and the GlobaLeaks community to democratize secure whistleblowing, empowering local initiatives to report corruption, abuses, and wrongdoing confidently without relying on proprietary or insecure tools.

Recognized as a Digital Public Good, GlobaLeaks emphasizes user-friendliness, customizability, and ongoing security audits to ensure trust in high-stakes environments.
