Statically is a free, fast global content delivery network (CDN) for open-source projects to distribute static assets such as CSS and JavaScript libraries.
🚀 Overview
Statically solves the challenge of easily distributing static assets like CSS, JavaScript, images, and more from open-source repositories and npm packages without the need for personal hosting or complex setups. It provides simple CDN URLs that proxy and deliver files globally with low latency.
This project is built for developers, open-source maintainers, and indie hackers who work with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or npm. It leverages powerful CDNs to ensure fast worldwide delivery.
It was created to support the open-source community by offering a reliable, free service that reduces friction in sharing and using static assets, powered by bunny.net and Cloudflare.
✨ Key Features
- Git Repository CDN: Serve optimized static files from public GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket repos, or Gists using simple URL formats like
https://cdn.statically.io/gh/:user/:repo/:file(what it does: proxies and caches files globally; why it matters: instant CDN without setup). - npm Package CDN: Deliver any file from npm packages directly, e.g.,
https://cdn.statically.io/npm/:package/:file(enables easy use of OSS libs in projects). - Global Low-Latency Delivery: Powered by bunny.net and Cloudflare for ultra-fast worldwide access.
- Optional: Image optimization endpoints available but
/img/currently disabled due to abuse.
